Do Solar PV and Batteries work with THTC meters?
Solar PV and Batteries are not recommended for THTC (Total heat Total Control) customers.
Battery inverters monitor the main Live incoming feed from the fuse prior to the energy suppliers meter and can only monitor 1 supply. THTC has 2 meters (peak and low rate). Generated energy that cannot be stored in batteries flows out to grid but can come back through your second meter and you will be charged as normal for your own generation. The same goes for any stored energy from your battery.
Contact your energy supplier for a Smart meter prior to fitting storage systems.
